'Moor' to celebrate this summer with Dartmoor Otter campaign

Trewin Design Architects would like to introduce our newest member of the team who will be situated within Dartmoor National Park between 1st June and 15th September 2017. Welcome to Colin the Rescue Otter who will be on the moor along with his 99 otter friends this summer as part of The Moor Otters Project, raising valuable funds for the Dartmoor National Parks continuing conservation work.

The Moor Otters project is a series of 100 unique pieces of art that are being displayed in accessible public areas around Dartmoor and the ‘gateway towns’ during the summer of 2017. Each three-foot tall resin otter sculpture has been designed and decorated by a different artist and will portray the artist’s own interpretations of wildlife and conservation issues.

Visitors to Dartmoor will be encouraged to explore the trail between June and September, with a dedicated website and trail map available. The artworks will then be auctioned off at live and online auctions. The project aims to raise £100,000 in sponsorship and sales, which will be used for projects to conserve and enhance Dartmoor’s landscape and wildlife, as well as improve access for everybody. Trewin Design are very proud to be sponsoring the wonderful and quite frankly very handsome Colin!

Our project located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park was featured in the Self Design & Build Magazine October 2016, where a small 1930’s style bungalow was replaced by a two storey contemporary dwelling enjoying dramatic valley views. Our clients utilised our RIBA Full Service and Planning Consultancy services for this particular project. Hedgerows can be viewed on our website here
