Affordable Housing

Trewin Design Partnership are one of the most experienced practices in the West Country in the field of affordable housing, having over 20 years experience in the design and development of projects throughout Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

We are currently retained by 10 RSLs (Registered Social Landlords), involving live projects totalling some 300-400 dwellings, which is a significant percentage of the South West allocation.

Part of our ongoing success in this field is due to our passionate belief that affordable housing need not be “cheap and nasty”. With attention to detail and careful consideration of individual site requirements, it has been possible to achieve schemes of acknowledged quality.

In recognition of our work, we have over the years won a number of prestigious design awards for affordable housing projects, which have often been competing against more expensive open market housing schemes.

As well as new housing, Trewin Design Partnership are also panel consultants to the National Association of Almshouses advising them on projects involving improvements and upgrades to their historic housing stock. This work has involved a number of projects to sensitively modernise Grade I and Grade II Listed buildings, making them fit for current living standards, whilst at the same time retaining their historic integrity.
