Alf W Trewin
MIAS, MBEng, MaPS

A Corporate Member of the Incorporated Association of Architects and Surveyors; The Association of Building Engineers and The Association of Planning Supervisors. He is the lead Partner appointed to the Duchy of Cornwall with the task of overseeing architecture and development in Cornwall, Devon and the Isles of Scilly, in accordance with the wishes of HRH Prince of Wales, to create buildings “that people really want and on a human scale”. The practice was founded in 1972 by Alf, who over the past thirty years, has provided the practice with his individual design abilities and a detailed knowledge of the planning process to ensure projects are developed to a high standard.

A postgraduate in Architectural Conservation and a Member of the British Institute of Architectural Technicians, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Builders. He is also a Panel Consultant of the National Association of Almshouses and is a Member of the Institute of Historic Building Consultants.

James Trewin
BA(Hons) DipArch (London), RIBA

Listed on the Architects Registration Council of the United Kingdom and a Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, James joined the practice in 1999 after working in London bringing with him valuable experience of large scale developments which include the £22million refurbishment of Somerset House. He trained at the University of Westminster gaining a distinction and also became an RIBA Silver Medalist. He has recently completed two educational buildings for Cornwall College which forms part of the Combined University of Cornwall. James also provides planning consultancy for South West Water on their development programme throughout Devon.
