The Practice consists of Chartered Architects, Chartered Surveyors,
Architectural Technicians and Admin Support Staff. There are three Partners and
four Associates.
Partners
Alf W Trewin | MIAS, MBEng, MaPS
A Corporate Member of the Incorporated Association of Architects and Surveyors; The Association of Building Engineers and The Association of Planning Supervisors. He is the lead Partner appointed to the Duchy of Cornwall with the task of overseeing architecture and development in Cornwall, Devon and the Isles of Scilly, in accordance with the wishes of HRH Prince of Wales, to create buildings "that people really want and on a human scale". The practice was founded in 1972 by Alf, who over the past thirty years, has provided the practice with his individual design abilities and a detailed knowledge of the planning process to ensure projects are developed to a high standard.

A postgraduate in Architectural Conservation and a Member of the British Institute of Architectural Technicians, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Builders. He is also a Panel Consultant of the National Association of Almshouses and is a Member of the Institute of Historic Building Consultants.
James Trewin | BA(Hons) DipArch (London), RIBA
Listed on the Architects Registration Board of the United Kingdom and a Member of the
Royal Institute of British Architects, James joined the Practice in 1999 after working in London bringing with him valuable experience of large scale developments which includes the £22m refurbishment of Somerset House. He trained at the University of Westminster gaining a distinction and also becoming an RIBA Silver Medallist. He went on to work with Peter Inskip and Peter Jenkins Architects, working on a Millennium Project at Somerset House. James also worked with for internationally acclaimed architects, MacCormac Jamieson Prichard.
James has gained valuable experience of working on a number of key flagship projects and has recently been instrumental in the design of the nationally acclaimed Broadclose Housing Project or 173 new homes which received the 2007 Housing Design Award for Best Affordable Housing Scheme. He has experience of working on a number of Partnering contracts and also undertakes a number of projects within our Framework Agreements. His involvement in affordable housing also includes a number of major housing projects including Northey Road Regeneration project for 93 new homes in Bodmin and the Redevelopment of PRC Homes for 355 houses in North Devon. James has also undertaken a number of smaller rural affordable housing schemes throughout Devon and Cornwall.

Staff
The Practice consists of Chartered Architects, Chartered Surveyors, Architectural Technicians and Admin Support Stafff. Part-time technicians are called in to address periods of excessive work load to meet practice deadlines.
Computer Aided Design (CAD)
The practice is fully equipped with the most up to date computer hardware with a fully networked system which provides efficient access to all types of information. Our Technicians are fully trained to use Microstation CAD which is a powerful package that provides a level of complexity required for large scale projects. It is also a powerful tool for creating 3D rendered drawings and photo montages.
